Texas Recycles Day is working in cooperation with the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) to give all Texas Communities access to America Recycles Day materials and resources.

Keep Carrollton Beautiful is participating by holding an event on Saturday, October 31st from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Newman Smith High School (2335 N. Josey Lane).

The items we are set to collect…..check back for more too:

Yarn – collecting for the Senior Center who knits hats and mittens for nearby hospitals

Car Batteries – Firestone – they will accept tires at their location too

Light Bulbs and regular batteries – don’t let these go to landfill

Electronics – all electronics will be collected and recycled – TVs smaller than 21 inches.

Books – CFBISD annual book sale

Metrocrest Social Services  will be on hand to collect things that don’t fall into the above categories

Would your group like to collect something that our citizens have…….let us know and we will set up a table for you to collect…

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS – all students who need hours, please come help unload cars and set up from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

PAPER SHRED-A-THON – 10:00am to 12:00am

The Rotary Club of Carrollton-Farmers Branch will host a Drive-Up Shred-A-Thon fundraiser Saturday, October 31st from 10am-12noon in the Newman Smith High School front parking lot at 2335 N. Josey. Avoid identity theft and paper jams by bringing old bills, tax returns, statements and personal documents to be professionally shredded. Staples and paper clips are okay.

Suggested donations for shredding are $10 for the first box and $5 for other boxes. Cash and credit cards accepted.
