Carrollton Community Garden
The Giving Garden of Carrollton and Harvest
Community Garden comprise Carrollton’s community gardens. The Giving Garden opened February, 2010, and
is located at 3926 Old Denton Rd. on Aldersgate United Methodist Church (AUMC) property. Harvest Community Garden
opened February 2012, and is located at 1518 E. Frankford Rd. on Redeemer Covenant Church property.
Keep Carrollton Beautiful partnered with Aldersgate UMC and Redeemer Covenant Church to help form the community gardens. Both gardens are run 100% by volunteers, just like Keep Carrollton Beautiful.
The Giving Garden and Harvest Community Garden both offer the residents of Carrollton an opportunity to garden or participate in the organic gardening experience. Gardeners lease a 20 X 4 foot raised bed, which they are responsible for that calendar year. Gardeners donate 50 percent of what they grow for the weekly and bi-weekly harvests. The harvests are donated to community organizations, which include Christian Community Action, Metrocrest Social
Services and Aldersgate UMC Food Share Program. These organizations serve families in need in our community.
